Bringing Baby Home

The Gottman Institute’s Bringing Baby Home (BBH), developed by relationship experts Drs. John and Julie Gottman, is a research-based and research-tested workshop that helps strengthen the couple’s relationship as they transition to parenthood, a proactive approach to transitioning into your new chapter. The main goal of BBH is to improve Baby’s quality of life by strengthening the parents’ relationship, which is the foundation of the family you are building together.

BBH will help you and your partner answer questions, such as:

  • How do we cope with the changes together?

  • How do we maintain relationship satisfaction after having a baby?

  • How do we reduce relationship hostility and increase affection?

  • How do we foster positive parent-baby interaction?

  • How do we recognize the signs of baby blues, postpartum mood disorders, and other mental health issues and what do we do?

How you and your partner engage, grow, and remain connected with each other—while everything around you changes—will help your relationship with Baby as well as Baby’s development. You don’t have to merely go with the flow, you can transition with more ease, more confidence, and more connection with the help of the Bringing Baby Home Workshop.
